Antique Map Bali by Hondius in original colour engraved by the English engraver Benjamin Wright and published in Amsterdam by Jodocus Hondius in Chapter XXIV of the second book (Liber secundus) of Issak Johannes Pontanus’ (1571-1639) Rerum et urbis Amstelodamensium historia in 1611. The map, like the majority of the 17th and 18th century maps of Bali. is based on Lodewijcksz’s map of the island published by Cornelis Claesz in Historie van Indien in 1598. The map, numbered 36, has Latin text above it and on the verso.

Very good condition; measures 83 x 118 mm.
