Antique Map of Asia by Chatelain titled ‘CARTE DE L’ASIE SELON LES AUTEURS ANCIENS EN RICHIE DE REMARQUES HISTORIQUES SUR LES CHANGEMENS QUI Y SONT ARRIVEZ’.

A very fine black and white early 18th century map of Asia showing the ancient empires and kingdoms of the region by the French geographer Henri Abraham Châtelain (1684-1743). The map was published in Volume V of Chatelain’s Atlas historique between 1705 -1720 and contains extensive notes on the history of Asia in the wide margins surrounding the map on three sides.

Good strong impression with wide margins very good condition apart from some creasing in the bottom right-hand margin and a black ome faint spotting in the upper right-hand margin and some browning along the edges of the paper, measures 366 x 436 mm.
