Attractive late 18th century copperplate engraving of the Diestpoort (top) and the castle and laboratory (below) in Batavia.  
Engraved by Mathias the Sallieth and drafted by Hendrik Kobell in 1779, both scene in the colored print show scenery in the tropical zone and exotic landscapes of Batavia.
