La Ville de Batavie – Chateua de la Batavia ~ Year 1665

Attractive and rare view of the city and the castle of Batavia seen from the sea. This plate was published in ‘Gezandtschap der Nederlandtsche Oost-Indische Compagnie … aan den grooten Tartarischen Cham, den tegenwoordigen keizer van China.’ (Nieuhof’s China expedition from 1655-1657.) by J. Nieuhof round 1665.
