Product Description

“Map of south-eastern Asia and Northern Australia [cartographic material] : showing the districts in Annam and Tonquin which France proposes to annex and to place under a Protectorate, the portion of New Guinea proposed to be acquired by Queensland, and the districts affected by the volcanic eruptions in Java.”

The map is showing the British, French, Portuguese and Spanish speaking parts of Indonesia. Also shown are the Proposed French Protectorate and the Telegraph Lines.

A very interesting political map indicating the Colonial Powers control/proposed annexation of territories in the area plus ‘ Districts Effected by the Volcanic Eruptions in Java. This map was published as a supplement of the Graphic, September the 22nd of 1883.
