An antique hand coloured engraved map of South East Asia and India titled ‘An Accurate Map of the East Indies from the Latest Improvements and Regulated by Astronomical Observations’ from Christopher Middleton’s ‘Complete System of Geography’, 1778.
Middleton’s Complete System of Geography was one of a number of similar late eighteenth century encyclopaedic series, combining travel narratives and explorers stories with military, social, and geographic histories.
