Ronggeng dance in Java – Van der Lith (1880)

An antique lithograph of a Ronggeng dance performers, by Dutch mapmaker P.A Van der Lith (1844-1901), and published in Holland in 1875.

Ronggeng is a traditional dance from Java with a group of musicians and female dancers, in which the performers exchanging narrative poetic verses as they dance in the music of a violin and gong.
