Description: Antique print of the Ciliwung (or Tjiliwoeng) paddle steamer, near Onrust Island. Onrust Island is one of islands in Kepulauan Seribu, Jakarta, which lies near to Angel Island or Bidadari Island, Indonesia. This print originates from ‘Het Kamerlid van Berkestein in Nederlandsch-Indie.’, (translation: van Berkestein, member of the Dutch Parliament in the Dutch East-Indies.) by M.T.H. Perelaer, published in Leiden, circa 1888.
Artists and Engravers: M.T.H. (Michel Theophile Hubert) Perelaer (Maastricht 1831 – Den Haag 1901), also called majoor (major) Perelaer, was a Dutch writer, who was in Indonesia for years. The lithographs are after drawings by Jhr. J.C. Rappard.
