A fine rare decorative engraving of birds titled ‘Le Jacamar et Le Todier’ or a Jacamars and African Pygmy Kingfisher bird.

by French naturalist, Louis-Jean-Marie Daubenton (1716 – 1800). 

This lithograph was made in 1833 in Brussels for Daubenton and Buffon’s epic natural history work.
It has hand-painted water colouring with many of the plates embellished with gold paint. The paper has a lovely aged, creamy white patina with some faint scattered foxing.

Measurements : 250 x 300 mm. (in FRAME)

Condition: Good, only age-toning. Colour still clear.
